Hi friend,
My name is Alex, but to quote Paul Simon, 'You can call me Al'
I'm a thirty-something young professional living the small city life with a couple of close pals.
A proud Midlander of Indian and Irish descent, I love potatoes in any shape or form and family, food and fun are in the blood.
When I’m not working, you can find me hanging with housemates, reading, running (sort of), out for coffee (decaf) and snapping a photo for the mems.
As a Christian, I predominantly write about life and the Lord because, for me, they are inseparable. Aged 19, Jesus asked me to follow Him, love Him and learn from Him and I’ve never looked back.
That’s not to say that life suddenly became easy or that I now have it all together - I’ll be upfront in saying that I really, really don’t. If anything, the longer I live, the more aware I become of my own brokenness.
And yet, the longer I walk with the Lord, unlearning the lies and taking in the truth, the more I taste and see how good He truly is, and the more I am becoming who He made me to be. I am being transformed from the inside out:
slowly but surely
little by little
one tiny degree of glory at a time
This process of becoming is often messier, more gradual and more painful than I'd choose, but getting to know Him is profoundly more precious than I could have imagined and His transforming work in my life, infinitely more beautiful than anything I could have brought about by my own efforts.
It’s my hope that through my words you may glimpse what I know to be true, tasting and seeing, encountering and experiencing for yourself, that the Lord is good.
Grateful for you and your readership and always rooting for you!
Al
